From "Reed-Read Lineage" Dr. Daniel Reed, pioneer physician of Fulton, Ill., 1838, was born in Camillus, Onondaga County, N.Y. He was educated at Fairfield College, N.Y., and studied medicine with Dr. Daniel Jones, at that time a popular physician of Central New York. After taking his degree, he began practicing at Auburn, N.Y. He removed to Joliet, Ill., but in a few years went to Galesburgh, Ill., in order to afford his children advanced education. He later returned to Fulton, and engaged in practice of his profession until his death, 1882. His wife was born in Bethlehem, Conn., May 13, 1801, and was the daughter of Jesse and Hannay (Pritchard) Meigs and cousin of ex-Governor John R. Meigs of Ohio, and of Dr. Charles D.
