Mrs. Adelia Frances Fulton
Mrs. Adelia Frances Fulton died at her home in this city, last Friday evening, November 18th. She had been ailing for nine years, and for the last three years had been a great sufferer.
Mrs. Fulton was born at Seneca, N.Y., Nov. 20, 1847, from there she moved to Hudson, when nine years old. He completed the High School course in Hudson and taught in the county and city schools. April 5, 1877, she married Marcus A. Fulton. She became the mother of five children, four of these survive her.
Any tribute to the memory of Mrs. Fulton would be inadequate that did not depict her under these divisions -- wife, mother, friend. In each of these she excelled. Against that statement, if she could see it, she would protest; but that was the woman in her, which was modesty itself. She never thought that she was a rare soul worthy of one word more praise than thousands of others. As a wife her portrait is given life-size in Proverbs 31-10-31. As a mother she could not be excelled. For her children, wealth and fame were things least thought of; but that they might be noble men and women, on the pattern of the Great Example, and what a friend she was! once given it was never withdraw. 'Twas like unto the friendship of God -- constant, unchangeable. In a word she was a humble and consistent Chirstian. She esteemed others better than herself, made no pretence nor display, but lived thelife cheerfully, devotedly, consistently.
