Death of War Veteran of Smith Flat

Stogdell Ansley, of Smith's Flat, died at home there last Monday, Aug. 15th, 1904. He was a Native of Pennsylvania and served as a private in Co. K 2nd Cal. Cavalry during the civil war. He was 74 years of age and highly esteemed as a good man and citizen. His funeral from O'Keefe's undertaking rooms to the City Cemetery last Wednesday, was under the auspices of his comrades of Placerville Post, G.A.R.
