Name:
- Rasmus Pedersen, a farmer, and his wife Ana Marie Jensen, raised at least six children in Odense, Denmark. In 1866, in their mid-40s, they and their children emigrated to the United States, to follow their son Jasper, who had joined the Latter-day Saints and moved to Utah three years earlier. They sailed to Hamburg, then New York, then joined the Abner Lowery Company for a trek across the Plains. First Rasmus, then Ana Marie, then one of their sons died on the journey. Another son soon died in Utah. In the end, Jasper took his brother Jens and sister Mette Marie into his own young household in Mount Pleasant, Utah.
