Notes |
- John Cameron Green married Eliza Mallory, a prominent Ontario farmer's oldest daughter, and became part of her huge extended family. For many years, he and Eliza lived next door to her parents and younger siblings, as they raised their own four children. John was always a carpenter and skilled woodworker, but also farmed and worked as the postmaster for a few years. Eventually they moved from the farm in Fredericksburgh into Napanee, the nearby town, where he ran a furniture shop with one of his sons. Then things went awry. In his mid-60s, he left his wife for a 20-year-old woman, with whom he quickly had five children.
