J.B. Hall Obituary

Funeral of J.B. Hall Services Are Held in the Wade Memorial Chapel at Lake View Cemetery Surrounded by the flowers of the kinds he had loved, goldenrod and will carrot blossoms, with images of palms that made the interior of the beautiful Wade Memorial chapel in Lake View cemetery a stately temple of sadness, the remains of J.B. Hall were yesterday paid their last earthly tribute. Mr. Hall died of apoplexy at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frederick Green, Monday. He was one of the well-known insurance men of the country years ago. He was in the insurance business in Chicago before the great fire of years ago, and the fire losses in the conflagration wrecked the companies represented. Later he became prominent in Columbus insurance circles, and was for years an adjuster of losses. A number of years ago he lost his health, suffering from partial paralysis, and then he and his wife came to Cleveland and made their home with Mr. and Mrs. Green at No. 32 Ambleside avenue. Two weeks ago his condition became so much worse that he was confined to his bed, and Monday he suffered the stroke of apoplexy that caused his death. In the cemetery chapel yesterday afternoon the simple and impressive Episcopal burial service was read by Rev. Harry S.C. Hathaway, rector of St. Alban's Church on Euclid Heights. Beside the coffin were the widow, Mrs. Kate Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Green, and the son of the deceased, Charles B. Hall, of Milwaukee. -- Cleveland newspaper clipping
