Frederick Green, early biography

Frederick Green, who at this writing fills the very responsible position of Executive Clerk to his Excellency, Governor Hoadly, is a very polite young gentleman, of good ability, and he was born on the 27th day of April, 1858, in Lennox county, Ontario, Canada. He received a common school education, and in 1874 removed to Cleveland, Ohio, where for eighteen months he clerked in the banking house of Everett Weddell & Co. In 1876 he severed his connection with this firm to take the position of Deputy Clerk of the Supreme Court Commission of Ohio. In October 1879, after the expiration of the Commission, he was, by the Supreme Court, admitted to the bar, and began the practice of law in Cleveland. Upon the inauguration of Governor Hoadly in January, 1884, Mr. Green gave up his practice to accept the position of Executive Clerk, which office he fills in the most satisfactory manner. -- 'Representative Men of Ohio, 1884-5', p. 21
